Architectural Vision Through the Lens: A Photoshoot with Collins Rolston Architects in Belfast

I recently had the pleasure of photographing Mark Collins, one of the leading creative minds behind Collins Rolston Architects, a highly respected architectural practice based in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Known for their striking, modern designs that balance innovation with a deep respect for place and context, Collins Rolston continues to shape some of Belfast’s most exciting contemporary architecture.

This architectural photography and portrait session aimed to capture both the creative spirit and professionalism that drive the firm’s work. The shoot took place in Belfast, using the natural light and geometric textures of the city’s architecture to create a refined, modern aesthetic that reflects the precision and vision behind Collins Rolston’s projects.

From the moment Mark stepped in front of the camera, it was clear that this wasn’t just a portrait — it was a chance to convey the thoughtful design philosophy at the heart of the firm. We explored clean lines, bold perspectives, and dynamic compositions that highlight how architecture and portraiture can work together to tell a cohesive visual story.

As a Belfast portrait and commercial photographer, I’m always drawn to shoots that celebrate creativity and place. Photographing professionals like Mark Collins, who are shaping the built environment of Northern Ireland, allows me to merge artistry with storytelling — capturing not only faces but the ideas and ambition behind them.

This session was part of my ongoing work with Northern Ireland businesses and creatives, providing photography that communicates authenticity, professionalism, and personality — ideal for website profiles, press features, and brand storytelling.

If you’re an architect, designer, or creative professional in Belfast or across Northern Ireland, and would like imagery that represents your work and vision, I’d love to collaborate.
